Street performers will be showcasing their talents in Olde Towne Okotoks today (June 22).

Musicians, magicians, dancers and more will perform in the Spring Into Summer Festival (previously known as Buskersfest) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Elizabeth Street.

There’s no admission cost, but festival goers are encouraged to show their appreciation for the performers with a small cash donation in the form of a loonie, toonie or a five-dollar bill.

Buskersfest was started several years ago as a way to provide youth and local entertainers with a platform to show off their talents. Anywhere from 20 to 30 entertainers typically take part in the festival.

For this year, Buskersfest has officially changed its name to Spring Into Summer Festival to better accommodate new forms of entertainment, including roving entertainers, a KidZone at the Okotoks Art Gallery and a photo booth.
