Actors wanted for Lions Campground haunt in Okotoks

A haunted house is bringing scares and screams to Lions Campground in Sheep River Park throughout October.

Okotoks is about to get spooky.

Nightmare in the Campground by Nightmare Creations Haunted House is bringing scares and screams to Lions Campground starting on Friday, Oct. 4.

The haunted house's three terrifying tours — The Asylum, The Stabbin' Cabin and The CarnEvil Funhouse — are in need of volunteers to play a variety of roles, ranging from escaped asylum patients to murderous clowns.

"It's real fun to scare people when you see that 'am I gonna die right now?' look in their eye," said co-owner and creative designer Jon-Ross Lafont. "That's the greatest thing in the world."

Kids are welcome to join as actors as long as their parents approve of them volunteering for late shifts.

"We will never say no to anybody that has the spirit of Halloween like we do," said Lafont.

To get involved as an actor, reach out to Nightmare Creations Haunted House's Eddie Marshall at [email protected].

After the kick-off event on Friday, Oct. 4, the haunted house runs every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until Halloween week, when it runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and wraps on Halloween, which falls on a Thursday this year.

Hours are from 7 to 10 p.m., although from 4 to 6 p.m. there are sessions without flashing lights or loud noises for kids and those with sensory needs.

Tickets are $25 per person, with group rates at $80 for four or ten for $220. Each ticket includes admission to the three haunted house events.

20 per cent of all profits from the event will go toward The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, supporting the Okotoks Lions Club's mission to train and provide service dogs to Canadians with disabilities.

Get tickets on EventbriteHauntPay or at the door.
