Environment Canada issues heavy snowfall warning with accumulations up to 15 cm for Foothills communities.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Okotoks, DeWinton and surrounding areas at 1:07 p.m. today.

Precipitation is expected to begin as rain and turn into heavy snow this evening.

Accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected but some locations may experience as much as 15 cm. Snowfall is expected to end by Wednesday morning

Environment Canada warns that heavy snow might make travel difficult in some locations. It also warns drivers to watch for reduced visibility on the roadways.

Environment Canada recommends preparing for quick changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
