Okotoks resident dies in collision near Fort Macleod

A 26-year-old resident of Okotoks has passed away as a result of a collision west of Fort Macleod on Sunday.

A 26-year-old resident of Okotoks has passed away resulting from a collision west of Fort Macleod on Sunday.

On Jan. 15 at 7:34 a.m., Fort Macleod RCMP received a report of a serious injury two-vehicle collision on Highway 3, nine kilometres west of Fort Macleod.

Upon arrival, the driver of one of the vehicles, who was identified as a 26-year-old resident of Okotoks, was deceased.

The RCMP reports three other individuals, including a five-year-old child, were taken to hospital with various serious injuries.

Officers remain on scene investigating the circumstances of the event. An RCMP release added that, "Although unclear what circumstances it played in the collision, officers report heavy fog in the area."
