Okotoks has earned a bit of breathing room atop the South Division standings.

The Carstar Okotoks Bisons picked up consecutive road wins over the Airdrie Thunder and Rocky Rams to improve to 14-3-1 in the Heritage Junior Hockey League, good for a five point lead at the apex of the wildly competitive South Division.

On Friday, Okotoks used a four-goal middle stanza to double up the Thunder 6-3.

The Easton Dean, Zephyr Laplante and Jake Snashall line paced the offence with a combined nine points. Snashall and Laplante each scored twice with Dean posting a game high three assists.

Adam Kirkpatrick and Ty Russell added the other markers with Connor White backstopping the visitors in a 23-save performance.

Dean, Kirkpatrick and blueliner Caden Scott scored in the 3-1 win Saturday night in Rocky Mountain House.

Okotokian Dylan Walker made 24 saves to improve to 8-0 in between the pipes for his hometown squad.

This week, Okotoks will look to marshal the Cochrane Generals in the Nov. 22 road tilt with a return home on Nov. 23 for an 8:30 p.m. clash with the Mountainview Colts.
