1952-2019
It is with great sadness the family of Cheryl Ann Ward announces her passing on October 13, 2019 at the High River Hospital. Cheryl fought a long and courageous battle with ALS but due to the loving care by the Staff on third floor her final journey was ended with the dignity she deserved.
Cheryl was born in Huntsville Ontario August 13, 1952 to Don and Shirley Ward. She was born into an enormous loving family of Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and lots of Cousins. She moved to Alberta in 1978 and lived in Okotoks for many years. Here she made many long lasting friends. She had the best neighbours. Cheryl’s home was her Happy Place along with her animals and flowers. She was able to stay in her home until August 2019 due to the special care she had from outside caregivers who were like family to her.
Cheryl is survived by her Father Don Ward of Okotoks, Sister Susan Cooper and special brother in-law Brian, Nephew Eli Cooper and his daughters Madison and Lilia, Nephew Isaac (Jenn) and his children Caiden and Kylie. Cheryl’s nephews were her pride and joy. Cheryl was predeceased by her mother Shirley Ward and infant brother Robert Douglas. Cheryl will be remembered for her kind and compassionate spirit, her wonderful sense of humour and her infectious smile. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her and to love her.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday,
