It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Edith Smith, beloved mother, wife,
granny and sister, who left us peacefully on
January 7th. She was 74 years old.

Edith’s life was a testament to her selfless
dedication to others. As a devoted nurse, she
touched countless lives, offering compassion
and care to those in need. Her nurturing spirit
extended far beyond her profession and into
her family, where she was a loving wife to
Wayne of 51 years and a devoted mother to
Trevor and Tracie.

Edith’s legacy lives on through her children,
her cherished grandchildren—Talis, Cohen,
Jonas, Oscar, Bryn, and Milo—and all those
whose lives she enriched with her kindness
and strength.

Her family, friends, and all who had the
privilege of knowing her will remember
her as a beacon of warmth, resilience, and
unconditional love.

A special thanks to the staff at Unit 66
and the South Calgary Health Campus
who supported her and her family in her
final days.

A service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held
at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Okotoks at
2 pm January 18th. Edith loved bright colours
and would be pleased to see everyone
dressed brightly to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
the Calgary Health Foundation: Foothills
Medical Center.

She will be dearly missed and forever
remembered.
